For my final project in CprE 584X (Models and Techniques in Embedded Systems) I am working on using a PIC32 tied to a PICTail Ethernet board, PICTail Graphics board and a magnetic strip card reader.  The lab that I run has a "pop club" in which student can buy pop but right now we are using a paper method to track when a student purchases pop.  This system aims to replace that with an electronic system in which the student swipes their card to begin the transaction and can use the touch screen LCD display to make their selection.  Information about their account will also be made available through a web interface hosted on the PIC32.  An abstract of the project is attached below as well as some pictures of the prototype system I'm using.  This project is currently in progress.
