History

One of the first web pages and domains we owned was called Stealthpegasus.com. Stealthpegasus was running on our own Linux web server and was, for the most part, our humble little web server in our corner of the internet. This was back in our college days when we had set up our server in our small 2-bedroom apartment. Things were great; we learned a lot, and it was fairly safe to run your own server back then.

One day, we got an odd letter through the mail. It was from a scum bag lawyer that claimed that they owned “stealth.” Yep, one of those guys. We got a cease or deceit letter claiming we owed them money for using the word. As it turns out, the registration was about to run out, and while we did not feel there was any validity to their claim (and later found out there wasn't), we decided just to let the name drop. By the way, we never paid anything or responded to the letter. After talking with an attorney, he suggested letting it drop, which we did.

Then one day…

Later, my wife and I started up RFGeeks.com. Like the previous site, it also started as a website that my wife and I ran from the Linux-based server we put together. RFGeeks underwent many changes, from our server to eventually purchasing server space. We kept that running for several years as it grew to host a phpBB forum, chat server, and other services. However, we stopped using those services over time and eventually dropped our service provider. It was often, though, and still is, a reflection of our interests and things we enjoyed doing. RFGeeks then went into hiatus, and we then brought it back as a GitHub page.

Moving on

GitHub is a fine service; if you need a fairly quick yet pretty polished site, it works very well. But GitHub is not the easiest to maintain. You start to hit limitations with Markdown, and at the end of the day, you want something that you can post what you need 5o and forget it. So, RFGeeks now lives on a SquareSpace server.

RFGeeks always was and still is our little corner of the internet. My wife and I try to update things occasionally and have been using this to show our interests, travels, and projects. We hope you enjoy our little website. Who knows where this domain will end up, but this is home for now.
